6th July In Transit KL-LHR
Our bodies are now getting used to the Northern Hemisphere. Both of us are feeling a bit seedy with getting used to the different time zones. Our 13 hour flight was relatively smooth but that changed markedly on our arrival at Heathrow. We have come to the conclusion that Heathrow is the worst airport in the world with varying degrees of incompetence. Our arrival gate was not available, so we were deplaned on the tarmac and we were delayed as we were herded onto a coach like cattle. Business class was not exempted. Fortunately we were fast tracked (Yeah right) to be greeted by two bored and uninterested immigration people. Our man could not stop yawning. After been herded through customs it was then time to pick up our luggage. After ½ hour our luggage had still not appeared with both of us waiting at two ends of the carousel in vain. A cursory glance by myself discovered that all business and first class luggage had been dumped unceremoniously on the floor in the void between the carousels. Needless to say we had not been informed of this. With luggage in hand we went out to meet Allan who poor man had no idea where we were and had started his search for us in Terminal One . We were in Terminal 3.We paged him and we found each other. Allan ever the delight and with humour as bad as mine then helped us navigate the minefield that is Heathrow, and then took us through London Rush hour traffic. All of us in dire need of coffee and chocolate to aid the flagging reserves. We are enjoying London with the quaint homes and atmosphere. Very Coro street. Our one bedroom flat in Southgate in London is cozy and comfy. After a lovely pizza meal followed by pistachio gelato, Allan graciously stayed in a hotel and left the flat for us to sleep and recuperate.
